Radiologic Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews doctor’s request for the examination.
• Identifies the patient to ensure that the person to undergo the procedure is the right person indicated in the request.
• Assesses the patient and explains the examination to be done.
• Ensures patients are scheduled for examinations with proper preparation.
• Performs routine radiographic examinations using quality control techniques to assure quality of image and minimize the radiation dose absorbed by the patient.
• Prepares the examination rooms and conducts routine maintenance, checking of the equipment.
• Coordinates with the Chief Radiologic Technologist, other technologists, and radiologists for the proper functioning of the unit.
• Maintains cleanliness of the department.
• Responsible for filling and safekeeping of the results and films for future reference.
• Protects patients and co-workers by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Performs routine x-ray requests.
• Operates c-arm with minimal supervision.
• Assists Radiologist/Ob-sonologist in general and OB-Gyne ultrasound procedures.
• Carries out Plain CT-scan examinations.
• Ensures to update monthly census of one section in the department (CT-scan, Ultrasound, or X-ray).
