Job Description

The Tax Director Colombia Bogota will play a pivotal role in shaping the tax strategy and compliance efforts for Nubank Colombia. This senior-level position requires a deep understanding of local and international tax laws, regulations, and best practices, particularly as they relate to banking and financial services. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership and finance teams to ensure tax efficiency, compliance, and risk management.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement the overall tax strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.
  2. Identify opportunities for tax planning and optimization within the financial sector.
  3. Oversee all tax compliance requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns.
  4. Responsible for the transfer pricing practices of the companies.
  5. Responsible for calculating all corporate taxes due in Colombia (e.g., Corporate Income Tax, VAT, withholding taxes, etc.).
  6. Manage relationships with tax authorities and handle audits and inquiries.
  7. Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the organization's operations.
  8. Provide strategic insights on tax implications of new business initiatives and transactions.
  9. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  10. Provide support to internal stakeholders on tax-related matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in tax, with a focus on financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Colombian tax regulations and international tax principles.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Past experience in Big4 is a plus.
  • Experienced in managing tax compliance, planning, and audits.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
