About the Department:

Within Amadeus Hospitality, the Media division focuses on enhancing demand and increasing market shares for clients by promoting their offerings across various platforms and channels, including web searches, social media, GDS, and mobile applications. Our clientele includes hotels aiming to attract more guests, cities or regions looking to draw in visitors, and airlines striving to engage more travelers.

Unlike many media agencies that depend solely on third-party software for advertising campaigns, Amadeus has developed its own advertising platform, recognized by clients for addressing unique use cases and enabling a more precise approach. This platform is constructed with a microservices architecture, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as Golang, Scala, Python, gRPC, GraphQL, Kafka, Apache Airflow, Apache Beam, Redis, PostgreSQL. It handles 160k transactions per second, deployed across multiple cloud regions globally, supported by a PB-size Google BigQuery hosted data warehouse, an innovative AI capable of executing up to 250k predictions per second, and is hosted on GCP (Google Cloud Platform). Our machine learning models are developed using Python, Tensorflow, Keras, LightGBM, among others.

Our infrastructure adheres to the latest industry standards (Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, FluxCD, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GCP, GKE, Thanos, Prometheus, Grafana, Apache Airflow / Google Cloud Composer, Apache Beam / Google Cloud Dataflow, Google BigQuery, Redis, PostgreSQL, Google BigTable, ...) and is designed with a GitOps mindset. The SRE team oversees our CI/CD pipelines, collaborating closely with development teams.

As a Senior Service Reliability Engineer, your role will be crucial in shaping future transformations, ensuring the stability and security of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous enhancement of the infrastructure and implementation of new standards.
  • Support projects aimed at geographical expansion.
  • Monitor and maintain the infrastructure.
  • Guide and mentor R&D teams.
  • Ensure platform stability.
  • Guarantee platform security.
  • Maintain and advance CI/CD processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and enhance our production and staging infrastructure.
  • Manage the complete application stack on Google Cloud.
  • Engage in the analysis of new requirements and develop core services to bolster IT team productivity.
  • Provide SRE expertise to evaluate and implement new services and data processing solutions.
  • Offer technical guidance and expertise across the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of multi-year roadmaps for infrastructure evolution and process industrialization.
  • Focus on creating systems automation and provisioning frameworks to enhance delivery team autonomy and ownership.
  • Mentor and support IT team members regarding tools, concepts, and cloud best practices, ensuring effective communication with team members, peers, and management.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Exhibits robust analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting abilities, often serving as the final line of support for infrastructure issues.
  • Has hands-on experience with Kubernetes (or OpenShift) and a solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts and the ecosystem.
  • Has prior experience with major cloud providers: AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Is familiar with the Prometheus-based monitoring stack (PromQL, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana).
  • Understands CI/CD concepts and tools.
  • Can code in at least one programming language, ideally Go, Bash, Python, or Java.

Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu (best practices, code organization) is a plus.

Familiarity with SQL and key-value store databases is advantageous.
