Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Gather and analyze relevant data to address quality-related challenges.
- Resolve issues by applying solutions derived from technical expertise and established precedents.
- Plan and lead projects by organizing activities into time-sensitive sequences with achievable timelines.
- Collaborate effectively across departments to foster a team-oriented environment.
- Ensure products meet established standards through comprehensive audits, inspections, and testing.
- Engage with various functional departments, suppliers, and external experts to achieve Zimmer's quality objectives.
Impactful Contributions
- Develop procedures, specifications, and standards for Zimmer products and processes.
- Lead quality engineering projects from conception through design, implementation, testing, documentation, support, and maintenance.
- Create and execute corrective and preventive action plans.
- Collect and evaluate data for gauge and product assessment.
- Identify essential personnel, gauges, procedures, and materials for new product completion.
- Ensure suppliers possess the necessary information and capabilities to deliver quality products.
- Conduct risk assessments, investigate nonconformance, manage changes, and collaborate closely with technical peers.
- Partner with Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance teams to support production.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and build relationships across departments and with external partners.
- Experience facilitating team efforts on quality engineering initiatives.
- Strong results orientation with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and familiarity with QSR/ISO regulations, design assurance, FMEA, and product testing methods.
- Knowledge of statistics, process control, and process capability.
Educational Background
- Fluency in English (C1 level) is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with certification as a quality engineer (e.g., CQE) preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
