Key Responsibilities:- Lead and oversee Global Engineering for Operations & Functions – Scotiabank Technology, ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Create and implement detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective.
- Monitor debugging process results and define and execute corrective actions.
- Track quality assurance metrics and create action plans accordingly.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
- Foster a solid working relationship with all members in the QA organization.
- Share knowledge and best practices across the organization.
- Develop reusable automation scripts that will reduce cost, timelines, and improve efficiencies across the organization.
- A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management, or engineering-related discipline is desirable.
- 1-3 years of demonstrable, practical hands-on experience as a Test Automation Engineer or Software developer.
- Expertise in SQL, JAVA, Selenium, Serenity, Cucumber, and other automated testing tools are critical.
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases.
- Experience with writing simple and complex SQL queries for data validation.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
- Demonstrable practical hands-on experience with Test Management tools like Jira-Xray, HP ALM, Mantis, etc.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Results-focused innovator, passionate about the success of their team.
- Willingness to travel internationally is required.
- Detailed analytical work with constant pressure of operating schedules, multiple test environments, and implementation deadlines is the norm.
- Project implementation dates are critical.
- Hours of work may vary with project schedules and problems incurred during testing; flexibility is required.
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
- Limited travel internationally.
