Purpose: The primary objective is to ensure that specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with the team's business strategies and objectives. This role guarantees that all activities are conducted in accordance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and leverage broader Bank systems and knowledge.
- Oversee and coordinate testing for various projects/releases.
- Evaluate UAT projects to assess the risk of code deployment in the current test environment, focusing on potential impacts across multiple projects and applications within tight deadlines.
- Develop UAT test plans; assign and review test documentation (functions, test cases, scripts); balance risk mitigation with optimal resource utilization while adhering to UAT policies and standards.
- Schedule and authorize project releases into the UAT environment; execute intricate test plans and supervise testing execution, coordinating resources and environments daily to meet project requirements; manage multiple stakeholders with conflicting needs.
- Continuously reassess project priorities in response to frequent directional changes and take decisive actions as necessary.
- Analyze UAT test results and take appropriate actions; collaborate closely with the development team to resolve defects; escalate issues to management when required; recommend code releases to Production.
- Transfer application and process knowledge to junior analysts within UAT; provide hands-on training on systems, hardware, and methodologies to test team members; mentor and motivate staff on project objectives and team dynamics.
- Collaborate with project teams throughout the software development life cycle to ensure business and technical requirements are met; contribute insights and assessments during project reviews.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned banking applications, UAT code configuration, system integration, and code delivery processes; offer technical guidance to development teams and external partners on application integration within the UAT environment.
- Estimate workday requirements based on project documentation; monitor resource demands and escalate any shortfalls or conflicts as necessary.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture influence daily activities and decisions.
- Strive for effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adherence to business controls related to operational, compliance, and conduct risk.

Software Quality Assurance:
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in drafting clear and comprehensive test plans and cases.
• Proficient in writing SQL queries for data validation.
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes is advantageous.
• Experience in performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• Proficient in JIRA.
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish, with a proven ability to resolve escalated issues effectively.

Education / Experience:
• A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable, hands-on experience as a QA Test Automation Engineer.
