About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Email Developer to join our team at Critical Mass. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and writing code for responsive email designs, ensuring that our emails are visually appealing and function seamlessly across various devices and browsers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop responsive email templates using HTML, CSS, and media queries
  • Collaborate with the design team, tech leads, and project managers to ensure that email designs meet the required standards
  • Propose solutions and provide estimates for email development projects
  • Ensure that emails follow best practices and are optimized for performance
  • Coach and support junior email developers in their tasks and skill development
  • Develop and adhere to coding standards and perform code reviews
  • Optimize images, HTML, and CSS code to achieve maximum performance with minimum size
  • Ensure desktop and browser engine compatibility
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and techniques
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in email development
  • Digital portfolio showcasing dynamic email samples
  • English proficiency (B2+/C1 reading, writing, and conversation)
  • Familiarity with ad publishers (e.g., Salesforce, Engage, Marketo, Silverpop, etc.)
  • Knowledge of pixel-perfect implementation on HTMLs
  • Knowledge of MSO compatibility and issues-related fixes
  • ADA compliance knowledge
  • Dark mode and fixes knowledge
  • Experience with dev skills in HTML, CSS
  • Concept of live text vs images
  • Knowledge of W3C Standards
  • Image optimization
  • Independent, responsible, and proactive with the ability to learn and achieve superior results
  • Understanding of media queries for responsive layout
  • Experience working with mobile and web templates
  • Basic HTML and simple/nested table structure
  • Hands-on QA experience using Litmus or similar
  • Photoshop proficiency required to manipulate assets
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects
  • Proven experience with modern web standards and cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Familiarity with MSO code
  • Implementation of email templates
  • Knowledge of using repositories (e.g., GitHub or Bitbucket)
  • Ability to work with IDEs (Sublime Text or Visual Studio Code required)
  • Experience with front-end, JavaScript, and frameworks
