About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to join our team. As a Project Director, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with our overall vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas.

  • Be the relationship owner and primary contact for Mace executive team engagement.
  • Ensure efficient governance to achieve our strategic priorities.
  • Oversee project timeframes and project budgets.
  • Manage the timely delivery to programme from project inception to completion.
  • Manage the timely sequencing and production of staging plans.
  • Perform non-project related roles such as business reporting, pipeline management, bidding, business development, resourcing, commercial strategy, and maximising our commercial position.
  • Align to strategy to place construction to production, digital, and data at the heart of our delivery.
  • Partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders to implement strategy, programmes, and initiatives.
  • Manage, influence, and negotiate with key senior external stakeholders.
  • Actively network and seek understanding of best practice.
  • Deliver continuous improvements in processes through application of best practices and lessons learned.
  • Manage a number of senior managers, managers, and assistant managers.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management, managing small to medium/large sized projects.
  • Experience developing budgetary oversight expertise.
  • Experience developing proficiency in coordinating activities and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills across estimating, scheduling, contracts administration, procurement, financial controls, and reporting.
  • Ensure project risks are effectively identified, mitigated, and managed.
  • Developing bidding, business development, and/or account growth capabilities.
  • Strong commercial and financial skills and an ability to build up fee proposals and oversee project workbooks.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific industry of project/role.
  • Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
  • Sound technical expertise in health and safety executive (HSE) rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
  • Developing a reputation across the relevant sector/market and operating at the highest level of compliance.
  • Seeks opportunities for implementing improved working practices.
  • Excellent communicator and relationship manager.
  • Confident presenter and public speaker.
  • Effective appraisal/analytical skills to support skilled negotiations, problem-solving, or conflict resolution.

  • MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE (or local equivalent).
  • Experience in the successful construction delivery phase of projects and programmes.
  • Demonstrable evidence of deep project management expertise.
  • Tertiary qualifications in related (project management and/or construction-related discipline), non-related degree, or equivalent professional experience/apprenticeship, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.
  • Appropriate construction skills certification scheme (CSCS) card (or equivalent local safety certification).
