Role Summary: The Accounting Manager will be pivotal in managing financial reporting processes. This role demands a strategic thinker who is proactive and detail-oriented, capable of delivering precise financial insights to assist leadership in making informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the creation of monthly financial statements and year-end documentation, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals for the Colombian division.
- Assist in the development of comprehensive monthly expense variance analyses.
- Conduct gross profit assessments and address discrepancies in financial reporting.
- Provide support and direction to financial analysts during the month-end closing activities.
- Prepare and review general ledger analyses and reconciliations.
- Evaluate detailed monthly financial reports for accuracy.
- Undertake various financial analyses as requested by senior management.
- Aid in the processing and submission of invoices through the purchase order management system.
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and accurate recording in the general ledger.
- Oversee Colombian tax compliance and coordinate tasks with the Director of Global Tax.
- Supervise financial systems to guarantee the timely and accurate maintenance of financial data.
- Participate in financial and external audits.
- Maintain effective communication with external accountants, consultants, and auditors.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from management and support operational and sales teams as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; advanced studies in taxation are advantageous.
- At least 5 years of experience in a general accounting role, with logistics experience being a plus.
- Strong grasp of financial principles and business acumen.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to drive initiatives and provide valuable insights.
- Capacity to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Sound judgment in interpreting company policies and objectives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Proficiency in English is required.
