Financial Analyst Job Description

At Somewhere, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting corporate budgeting/forecasting activities, corporate reporting of key information, variance analysis, audit activities, and ad-hoc analysis projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and distribute reports summarizing financial results, segment performance, and key business trends on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform monthly variance analysis of financial results and key corporate metrics, and participate in monthly variance reviews with members of the Finance and Accounting team.
  • Trend Identification: Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
  • Database Management: Establish databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing financial results and other data analysis requirements.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Make recommendations to management regarding cost-saving or profit-generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Perform annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities that assist with the consolidation of the corporate financial plan, including coordination of inputs from various departments.
  • Cash Flow Modeling: Create cash flow modeling.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with a focus in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience as a Financial Analyst in a real estate company.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Argus Software Experience: Experience in using Argus software.
  • Cash Flow Modeling Expertise: At least 5 years of experience in doing cash flow modeling.
