Backend Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team at Linqia. As a Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing server-side applications using Python, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs and ensure smooth functionality.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement server-side applications using Python, leveraging your expertise in software development and architecture.
  • Write complex SQL queries using Trino to gather analytics data from multiple sources, ensuring accurate and timely insights.
  • Develop and maintain microservices for our platform, collaborating with the team to ensure seamless integration and high-quality code.
  • Design and optimize databases, both relational and non-relational, to meet the evolving needs of our business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs and ensure smooth functionality, driving innovation and excellence in our technology stack.
  • Write efficient and reusable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards, and perform code reviews to ensure a high-quality codebase.
  • Develop comprehensive end-to-end integration tests to ensure systems function as intended, and troubleshoot and debug issues in backend systems.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends, driving continuous improvement and innovation in our technology stack.
Qualifications
  • English language proficiency required.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical area of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a software engineer/developer, with a focus on backend development.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Strong experience with databases, SQL, and database optimization techniques.
  • Experience working with microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with API design principles and RESTful services.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities, with the capability to work in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience/certification with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Knowledge of message queues and streaming platforms, such as Apache Kafka.
  • Understanding of caching mechanisms and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience with performance testing and profiling tools.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks.
