Flock Safety is a pioneering technology company dedicated to eliminating crime and creating safer communities. As an Embedded Software Architectural Expert, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing systems that enable real-time communication between drones, docking stations, our aerial traffic awareness and ground control station (GCS) platforms, and other external systems for autonomous operations.

This position involves architecture, interface design, writing code, responsibility for testing, and publishing documentation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor other engineers, and drive innovation in our product offerings. With a strong background in systems engineering, WebRTC, drone communication protocols, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions in the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) industry, you will thrive in this role.

Our ideal candidate has 2+ years of software architecture experience, 3+ years of Rust development experience, 8+ years of software and/or systems engineering experience, proficiency in Linux-based development environments, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. They should also have a strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

We offer a competitive salary of $185,000-$210,000 per year, as well as stock options, use what you need PTO, fully-paid health benefits plan, family leave, fertility & family benefits, mental health support, caregiver support, Carta Tax Advisor, WFH stipend, L&D stipend, home office stipend, and pet insurance.
