About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Custom Home Estimator to join our team at Bruntwork, a design and construction company specializing in high-end residential homes on the South Coast of NSW. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming concepts into reality by producing accurate estimates, proposals, and construction drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models in Sketchup with Plusspec to visualize design concepts.
- Perform takeoffs and preliminary estimates in ProCalc for early-stage discussions.
- Provide Quick Ballpark Estimates (QBE) post-concept stage for client budgeting.
- Create comprehensive estimates using WonderBuild, including takeoffs and labor costs.
- Produce construction drawings and markup plans aligned with subcontractor quotes.
- Generate shop drawings for construction teams to ensure project specifications.
- Labor and Material Costing: Use multi-method labor costing through Plusspec, internal spreadsheets, and project assessments.
- Maintain an updated price book with local supplier costs.
- Process Management and Optimization: Streamline estimating workflows in Sketchup and Plusspec to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with designers, site staff, and subcontractors from project concept to completion.
Requirements
- Advanced skills in Sketchup with Plusspec, ProCalc, and WonderBuild.
- Deep understanding of NSW residential construction practices and regulations.
- High accuracy in estimates and drawings.
- Clear communication skills; familiarity with Slack and High Level.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines with precision.
