Position Overview:

This role entails managing all facets of operation, filling, packaging, and tote washing. Candidates should be equipped to handle a variety of tasks within the production department, excluding mixing and bulk receiving/shipping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review filling and packaging directives at the start of production runs, ensuring availability of correct packaging materials and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Set up production lines accurately according to filling and packaging specifications, making adjustments as necessary or seeking assistance from supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Operate filling and packaging machinery consistently, which may include fillers, sleeve labelers, cappers, tape machines, bar coders, inkjet printers, and palletizers, adjusting equipment to meet specifications.
  • Conduct all line operations, including loading containers, labeling, filling, capping, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizens and 5S projects.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for waste reduction in systems and processes.
  • Document quality and productivity metrics accurately and promptly, including weights and basic quality tests.
  • Complete filling and packaging tasks while meeting or exceeding established standards.
  • Assist with line changeovers, including managing wash water collection.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must pass a drug screening and physical examination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Capability to complete training and master necessary skills for the role, including Hazardous Material Safety and DOT training
  • Understanding of safety, quality, and productivity metrics
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Total Production Management (TPM) and Continuous Improvement Systems
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
