Role Summary:
The Principal Scrum Master is responsible for enhancing the flow of value delivery at the Agile team level by advocating for Lean-Agile values and principles. This role involves facilitating team and scaled agile ceremonies, safeguarding Scrum/Kanban artifacts, engaging with stakeholders, mentoring junior colleagues, addressing impediments, managing risks, and persistently striving for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide team leaders and members in Lean-Agile methodologies and philosophies.
- Implement Agile best practices (Scrum, Kanban) by coaching stakeholders to adopt an Agile mindset.
- Assist teams in enhancing predictability and transparency.
- Support individuals and teams in optimizing their value delivery processes.
- Encourage teams to utilize metrics and analytics through real-time data and dashboards.
- Facilitate Agile events and stakeholder collaborations, as well as necessary sync meetings.
- Promote an environment of mutual influence, encourage personal growth, and uphold the commitments made by the Agile team.
- Assist team members in identifying problems and making decisions.
- Identify and apply techniques to enhance team effectiveness using empirical methods.
- Manage risks and dependencies while facilitating the removal of obstacles.
- Summarize team objectives and communicate them to members and stakeholders for visibility.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to create and maintain a value-driven team backlog.
- Work with Product Management and portfolio leads to develop long-term delivery strategies and forecasts.
- Collaborate with Agile coaches to contribute to organizational Agile transformation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- At least 10 years of experience with software development methodologies and Agile practices.
- A minimum of 2 years in an Agile Coaching role.
- Experience working with multiple Agile teams from a unified product backlog in a scaled setting.
- Strong technical acumen to provide credible leadership across various cross-functional Agile teams.
- Ability to navigate complex environments with significant business impact and collaborate with stakeholders to drive process enhancements.
- Proficient in tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, Rally, VersionOne, etc.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Confluence, etc.
- Experience in querying data and generating reports using Power BI.
- Background in the airline or travel industry is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications from PMI, SAFe, Scrum Alliance, LeSS, or similar organizations.
- Expertise in project management principles and vendor management.
- Experience overseeing multiple cross-functional teams, each comprising 5-7 members.
- Strong technical knowledge of cloud computing.
Education:
A BA or BS degree or equivalent experience is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
