At S&P Global, we are seeking a highly skilled Rating Analyst to join our team in Bogotá, Colombia. As a Rating Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing and evaluating the creditworthiness of debt issuers and their ratings. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading global provider of credit ratings, benchmarks, analytics, and workflow solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze a portfolio of simple and medium complex entities with support from manager and senior analyst.
- Conduct surveillance of rated debt issues and issuer's ratings; may act as a primary analyst for less complex entities.
- Demonstrate an understanding of rating principal and methodology, a working knowledge of BRC S&P ratings criteria and aids in researching criteria development needs.
- Contribute to the analysis of credit using BRC S&P rating methodology and standards, Excel, financial models, financial data, and financial statement analysis.
- Develop and maintain a centralized source of news information, including digital media, and carries out research for industry monitoring including examining corporate or municipal financial technical information.
- Support team in spreadsheet and database development, maintenance, and analytics including extracting financial and economic data from source materials and inputting into group/company applications and performing financial modeling.
- Coordinates with local team to ensure data is treated consistently across industries and ratings.
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial analysis and a passion for credit rating analysis. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree in a business-related field and 3-4 years of experience in financial analysis of financial institutions. Advanced Microsoft office tools, particularly Excel skills, are essential. Bilingual English level (B2 high or C1) is also required.
