Key Responsibilities

The Senior Packaging Operations Coordinator will spearhead the development and validation of tertiary packaging for new products and cost optimization initiatives. This includes comprehensive line qualification to support a diverse array of products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting feasibility assessments and business justifications for tertiary packaging related to New Product Development (NPD) and enhancements to existing packages.
  • Overseeing the development of tertiary packaging, including customization, artwork, specifications, and transportation testing.
  • Defining and executing a strategic plan for tertiary packaging development.
  • Analyzing and validating technical drawings for tertiary packaging.
  • Creating and managing specifications for Packaging Components and Decorated Components.
  • Ensuring compliance with Master Data Management (MDM) processes related to tertiary packaging.
  • Establishing packaging requirements to meet operational efficiency targets.
  • Collaborating on Design-Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (D-FMEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DfM) with the Packaging team.
  • Conducting end-to-end production line qualifications for filling and packing machinery.
  • Developing protocols and documentation to ensure technical requirements are met for optimal line performance.
  • Communicating packaging milestones and evaluating risks with mitigation strategies to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Collaborating closely with Supply Chain, Global Packaging, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams to align packaging materials with stakeholder needs.
  • Exploring innovative packaging concepts that align with sustainability goals.
  • Staying updated on new technologies and materials in the consumer goods sector.
  • Providing technical solutions for challenges related to tertiary packaging and line qualifications.
  • Creating Technical Document guidelines to maintain high performance standards in packaging operations.
  • Managing Material Event Notifications (MEN) and Supplier Event Notifications (SEN) to uphold packaging quality.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in the Cosmetic, Personal Care, OTC, Food, or related industries.
  • Experience with packaging line trials and exposure to various packaging technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing tools and processes, including DfM, D-FMEA, MDM, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality System requirements.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize and drive projects to completion.
  • Proactive and positive attitude with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to network and collaborate with a diverse range of associates.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) initiatives.
