The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Lead Regional Economist. This role is a key part of the Programme Management Department (PMD) and will play a critical role in shaping the organization's economic policy and strategy in the Latin America and the Caribbean region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely, authoritative, and analytical advice to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the division's work and instruments.
- Develop and implement strategies to better integrate different types of operations, allowing IFAD to enhance its value addition and impact on poverty reduction in the region.
- Act as a catalyst for the generation and use of economic data, analysis, and knowledge within IFAD and with outside institutions.
- Advanced university degree from an accredited institution in Economics or a related field.
- At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of economics with International Financial Institutions, international NGOs, rural development/financial institutions, foundations, or government services.
- Knowledge of the Latin America and the Caribbean region is an asset.
- Excellent English and Spanish language skills (4 - Excellent).
- Desirable: French or Arabic language skills.
