Overview

As a key member of the Engineering organization at Quorum Software, you will be part of a dynamic 6-8 person agile team responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing functionality of our SaaS business application for the energy sector. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Customer Success to design, develop, and deploy solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to a small team of developers, including international team members, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality solutions to customers.
  • Develop and implement sound technical and functional solutions to complex problems, taking into account the needs of both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in the full life-cycle development of SaaS business applications, from design and development to deployment and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, providing daily status updates and identifying and resolving issues that may impede progress.
  • Exhibit strong technical analysis skills, considering architectural-level issues and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Work independently as needed, while also being a team player who can collaborate effectively with others.
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in the technical and business domains.
  • Work closely with Customer Success to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Evaluate the source of defects, recommend solutions, and implement action plans to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Perform complex analysis, design, and coding activities for SaaS applications deployed in public clouds.
  • Assist the Product Owner in grooming the backlog, clarifying acceptance criteria, and adding technical requirements.
  • Research and troubleshoot problems discovered by product support and develop solutions to resolve them.
  • Participate in performance testing, results evaluation, and action planning.
  • Champion automated unit testing as part of the software development cycle.
  • Follow and establish coding standards and development processes.
  • Lead and evaluate proof of concepts for continuous improvement, including new patterns, cloud services, and tools to advance the product.
  • Help plan sprints, run daily standups, and retrospectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6-8+ years of work-related experience, preferably in SaaS applications.
  • Experience leading a small team using agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on development experience using IDEs such as Microsoft Visual Studio, code repository management, and CI/CD experience.
  • Strong knowledge of technologies such as JavaScript, API (.NET, NodeJS), relational databases, and public cloud experience.
  • Knowledge of agile development processes and common development patterns used in multi-tier systems.
  • Thorough technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation.
  • Excellent analytical and design skills at the enterprise level.
  • Excellent understanding of the entire development process, including specifications, user stories, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a team dynamic.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of technical skills necessary for completing own assignments and code reviewing others' work.
  • Experience supporting projects in both development and production environments, including external customer environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to delegate work and ensure delivery to a defined schedule.
  • Self-motivated learner, proactive in seeking help, with a passion for producing high-quality work product.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Additional Details
  • Background Check: The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances: Criminal History Check, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Driver's License Verification, and Passport/ID validation.
  • Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in Colombia is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position. The successful candidate will be required to ensure they maintain and renew any visas or permits that grant employment eligibility where applicable.
  • Current professional card or registration in Colombia (if applicable): The successful candidate will be required to present their professional card or registration information if the role is deemed to be regulated.
