About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team at Amadeus, a leading travel technology company. As a DBA, you will be responsible for ensuring the deployment, maintenance, performance, integrity, and security of our MariaDB database platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deploy database clusters to support multi-Terabyte workloads with a strong emphasis on high-availability and fault-tolerance.
  • Ensure storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are operating correctly, including in disaster recovery situations.
  • Maintain and upgrade database clusters to comply with appropriate patch levels, kernel patching, and security standards.
  • Monitor performances and manage database parameters to provide best-of-class experience.
  • Investigate operational incidents, debug problems, and provide solutions for recovery in 24x7 operational conditions.
  • Contribute to the on-call roster and work closely with the database development team for continuous improvement of the MariaDB automation ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing MySQL or MariaDB database technologies in a critical, highly available enterprise environment.
  • Experience working with Linux platform and database automation (Ansible, Python, shell, etc.).
  • Knowledge of another database technology like Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle (19c+) is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
