As a Principal Scrum Master, you will be responsible for enhancing the flow of value delivery at the Agile team level by championing Lean-Agile values and principles. You will facilitate team and scaled agile ceremonies, safeguarding Scrum/Kanban artifacts, engaging with stakeholders, addressing impediments, managing risks, and striving for continuous improvement.

Role Summary:

The Principal Scrum Master plays a crucial role in promoting the flow of value delivery within Agile teams by endorsing Lean-Agile principles. You will facilitate Agile ceremonies, mentor less experienced colleagues, escalate issues, manage risks, and pursue improvements in a systematic manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide team leaders and members in Lean-Agile methodologies and mindsets.
  • Implement Agile best practices by coaching stakeholders in adopting an Agile mindset.
  • Assist teams in enhancing predictability and transparency.
  • Support individuals and teams in optimizing their value delivery flow.
  • Encourage teams to utilize metrics and analytics through real-time data and dashboards.
  • Facilitate Agile events and stakeholder collaborations, including necessary sync meetings.
  • Promote a culture of mutual influence, personal development, and commitment within Agile teams.
  • Assist team members in identifying problems and making decisions.
  • Identify and apply techniques to enhance team effectiveness using empirical methods.
  • Manage risks and dependencies while removing obstacles.
  • Summarize team objectives and communicate them to team members and stakeholders for clarity and transparency.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to create and maintain a value-driven team backlog.
  • Work with Product Management and portfolio leads to develop long-term delivery strategies and forecasts.
  • Engage with Agile coaches to contribute to organizational Agile transformation.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • At least 10 years of experience in software development methodologies and Agile practices.
  • A minimum of 2 years in an Agile coaching role.
  • Experience with multiple Agile teams operating from a unified product backlog in a scaled setting.
  • Strong technical expertise to provide credible leadership across cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Ability to navigate complex environments with significant business impact while collaborating with stakeholders to enhance processes at both team and portfolio levels.
  • Proficient in tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, Rally, VersionOne, etc.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience in querying data and generating reports using Power BI.
  • Familiarity with the airline or travel industry is advantageous.
  • Certifications from PMI, SAFe, Scrum Alliance, LeSS, or similar organizations.
  • Deep understanding of project management principles and vendor management.
  • Experience overseeing multiple cross-functional teams, each comprising 5-7 members.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cloud computing.

Education:

A BA or BS degree or equivalent experience is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
