Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Affairs Leader to join our team as Global Therapeutic Area Lead. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for Medical Affairs within a specific Therapeutic Area (Gastroenterology). Your primary focus will be on putting the patient's needs and safety into primary focus.
You will contribute to the achievement of business success by providing medical and scientific leadership both internally and externally. This includes responsibility for creating and executing the medical/clinical strategy, leading and managing medical staff as needed, collaborating with external stakeholders as needed, and serving as a TA medical and scientific expert within the company.
This position reports to the Medical Affairs Head and is based in Bogotá, Colombia. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of experience in driving and managing the medical strategy for high-cost brands in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and oversee all local Medical Affairs activities in the relevant Therapeutic Area(s)
- Maintain a very high level of updated medical knowledge and understanding of the overall treatment and healthcare environment in the Therapeutic Area(s)
- Leverage strong science to create compelling strategies for the Therapeutic Area(s) that fulfill unmet medical needs, support successful product registration, and increase availability of Takeda's medicine to patients
- Represent the Therapeutic Area Medical Affairs to senior cross-functional leadership as well as external stakeholders
- Medical professional (MD or equivalent)
- 3-5 years of experience in driving and managing the medical strategy for high-cost brands in the pharmaceutical industry
- + 3 years of prior experience in a similar role
- Experience creating & executing strategic medical plans
- Managerial experience is required
- Deep understanding Local Health Care System
- Fluency in English and Spanish
The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
