About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Systems Engineer to join our Corporate Applications and Intelligence team under Visa Technology Organization. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining centralized and decentralized BI platforms that drive business growth and customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of Visa's business initiatives and their impact on the company's growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Infrastructure, Security, and Data Privacy, to design and implement scalable BI platforms.
  • Evaluate technical options and provide recommendations on scope and scale of effort required to develop end-to-end solutions.
  • Be responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution, including building and deploying high-quality BI platforms.
  • Actively participate in defining architecture and creating solution documents, and be hands-on with low-level design, code review, coding, unit testing, production deployment, and support activities.
  • Deliver efficient and high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Identify and manage risks at all stages of the project and work with stakeholders to mitigate these risks.
  • Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards, processes, and systems.
  • Manage access controls, set up and maintain the BI platform, and ensure the system's overall health and performance using usage reports.
  • Document all processes, methodologies, and instructions related to the BI Platform, ensuring that documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide end-user support and training.
Requirements
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Experience in understanding requirements and independently architecting, designing, and building large-scale resilient enterprise applications.
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  • Expertise in installing and upgrading enterprise-wide multi-node Self-Servicing BI Platforms like Tableau Server and Power BI Report Server with High Availability.
  • Experience in setting up Tableau Online Sites and Power BI Service.
  • Experience in implementing governance initiatives for the BI Platform with automations.
  • Experience in building extensions for Tableau Server.
  • Experience with Power BI REST APIs for embedding, administration, governance, and user resources.
  • Experience in building scalable dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Power BI Desktop Software.
  • Oracle Business Intelligence Application (OBIA) deployment experience with CRM and Financial Analytics Modules - Procurement & Spend, Spend Classification, AP Transactions, and GL Balance Sheet.
  • Experience in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE).
  • Experience in building data pipelines and ETL using Bigdata Open Source Technologies stack.
  • Expertise with RDBMS systems like DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • Request, Incident, Problem, and Change Management process.
  • End-user training and support.
  • Certifications in Tableau, Power BI, and OBIEE are a plus.
  • Experience programming in at least one or more in Python, Scala, and Java.
  • Gen AI knowledge is a plus.
