Job Title

Cloud Engineer - Infrastructure

Summary of the role:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Competency Center, where you will design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in Azure. You will work closely with our engineering teams to build, operate, and scale cloud-based platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for configuring and deploying infrastructure components, managing cloud resources, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy cloud infrastructure components, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, and route tables.
  • Manage and deploy Azure infrastructure components, such as virtual machines, storage accounts, key vaults, and log analytics workspaces.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new initiatives and migrate existing applications to the cloud.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and design exercises to build and automate large-scale infrastructure and services migrations to the cloud.
  • Conduct proof of concepts and studies to deploy new hardware or software functionalities to the IaaS platform.
  • Participate in incident management activities, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cloud deployments and deliveries.

About the ideal candidate:

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud administration, deployments, and migration roles.
  • Experience running a sizeable environment (1000+ hosts).
  • Solid grasp of scalability, stability, and security challenges of cloud-based applications.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Azure cloud platform.
  • Hands-on experience with managing and deploying Azure infrastructure components.
  • Thorough understanding of network components, including Express Route, Firewalls, and DNS.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform.
  • Experience with scripting and coding in Python, Groovy, or shell.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, and source code repositories, such as Git or Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, such as SAFe, Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
