- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with IFRS-GAAP and other regulatory requirements by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and standards and keeping abreast of changes in accounting regulations and industry trends.
- Accounting Policy Development: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data, including reviewing and updating accounting manuals and processes as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as finance, tax, and audit, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information and support the organization's overall financial goals.
- Training and Development: Provide guidance and support to other members of the accounting team, including training and mentoring junior staff and delegating tasks as needed.
- Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects and other initiatives as assigned by management.
- Accounting Record Maintenance: Review accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and make or direct correcting entries.
- Accounting Process Control: Plan, organize, and control accounting process flows and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Metrics and Reporting: Gather and report on the department's processing metrics including determining relevant statistical data to measure.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS-GAAP and other accounting principles and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing accounting operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Experience with accounting software, such as Oracle, Netsuite, or SAP, is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
