Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Automation Specialist to join our team in Bogotá or work remotely from home.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Champion a customer-focused culture, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  2. Design, improve, and maintain automation frameworks and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  3. Create and estimate automation scripts using Java with Selenium, ensuring thorough testing of systems.
  4. Develop complex code/scripts to test systems, collaborating with development engineers during story and task breakdowns.
  5. Become an expert on the usage of the entire application suite, processes, workflows, and other relevant technologies.
  6. Work closely with Delivery Team Management to continuously improve the testing process.
  7. Understand enterprise software design principles, including architecture, design patterns, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  8. Cultivate self-guidance and prioritize tasks effectively, managing time efficiently without direct oversight.
  9. Maintain alignment with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequate day-to-day business controls to meet obligations related to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
Requirements:
  1. Possess leadership skills and experience guiding QA teams, coaching individuals, and fostering growth.
  2. Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration.
  3. Showcase ability to quickly learn existing and new applications, working independently with moderate supervision.
  4. Exhibit knowledge of QA processes, documentation, and various testing types.
  5. Experience in end-to-end testing, creating and maintaining complex queries (SQL), and understanding ETL Testing concepts is essential.
  6. Proficient in Functional Testing and System Integration Testing, with a solid grasp of relational & dimensional databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Fluency in English (B1+) and Spanish is required. Additional language proficiency is a plus.
  2. A proven track record in software quality assurance, demonstrating over 3 years of experience as a QA analyst with test automation expertise.
  3. 2+ years of experience specifically in automation testing tools like Selenium, Robot Framework, Karate, and Cucumber.
  4. Proficiency in SQL queries, especially for data comparison in test scenarios, along with practical experience in automating web-based APIs and database-centric applications.
  5. Strong background in GIT/Bitbucket (source code management tool) and CI/CD Pipeline, comfortable working in diverse environments with various banking & financial applications.
  6. Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle or SQL Server, along with knowledge and experience with SQL queries.
  7. Prior experience in building, integrating, and deploying webservices (REST/ SOAP/JSON/XML) is beneficial.
