Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in designing cloud-native solutions utilizing modern practices and patterns. They will be proficient communicators, capable of working closely with team members across cross-functional scrum teams. Collaborating with product owners and engineers, they will identify the roadmap, plan, and prioritize tasks to deliver incremental value. Additionally, they will serve as effective mentors, guiding engineers in the implementation of patterns and designs. Working alongside DevOps and Site Reliability engineers, they will strategize deployment and operational perspectives, documenting systems through diagrams and visualizations to support operational planning and security assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team in delivering microservices based on established reference architectures, incorporating integration patterns and communication protocols.
  • Produce documentation and diagrams for use by architects, engineers, product teams, security, and operations to facilitate system understanding.
  • Collaborate closely with enterprise architects and engineering teams to develop application modernization roadmaps that adhere to enterprise standards.
  • Engage in hands-on prototyping of solutions to illustrate value and vision.
  • Provide governance for enterprise architecture while contributing to the establishment of standards.
  • Ensure that operational and security standards are addressed architecturally in collaboration with security and technology teams.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • 8+ years of experience in designing and delivering software applications, particularly with C#.
  • 3+ years of experience in solution architecture for integrated enterprise-scale applications.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with modern architectural patterns and practices, including API best practices, Domain Driven Design, CQRS, and event-based architectures.
  • Experience with cloud-native deployment patterns.
  • Understanding of database and data modeling with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
  • Familiarity with implementing observability using Open Telemetry specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster collaboration across diverse groups, with the ability to present solutions and build consensus.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and CI/CD processes for scalability, including blue/green, red/black, canary, and resiliency engineering.
  • A proven track record in leading microservice modernization efforts is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the travel industry is advantageous.
  • Azure certification is a plus.
