In this capacity, the Market Development Manager will consistently collaborate with hotel partners to optimize their potential within the Expedia marketplace by effectively utilizing Expedia Group's unique data insights, marketing strategies, distribution channels, and revenue management tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize market-specific data available in our systems, along with Expedia's proprietary market insights and activity prioritization dashboard, combined with local market expertise, to:
- Expand and enhance the portfolio of local hotel partners by introducing high-potential candidates to Expedia's global value proposition and facilitating their onboarding process.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with partners by providing valuable data insights and exceptional support services, including revenue management guidance and marketing opportunities on the Expedia platform.
- Ensure that partner hotels' offerings (content, pricing, and availability) are consistently optimized and competitive on Expedia Group's platforms to maximize customer conversion rates.
- Secure additional inventory during peak demand periods to meet customer needs effectively.
- Negotiate seasonal promotions, evergreen deals, and dynamic offers within management guidelines to support brand marketing initiatives.
- Continuously engage hotel partners with Expedia's comprehensive suite of:
- Unique market insights (partner reports, competitive data, key performance indicators)
- Revenue management tools (dynamic promotions, packages, exclusive deals, mobile solutions)
- Marketing and merchandising opportunities
- Specialized brands (e.g., EPS, Hotwire, Media Solutions) potential opportunities
- Self-service tools (Expedia Partner Central), connectivity solutions (Expedia Quick Connect), and essential support functions (Market Operations Team)
- Represent Expedia in the local market, enhancing the company's profile with key local stakeholders (e.g., tourism boards, hotel associations) and providing expertise to the local industry.
- Offer coaching to colleagues (peers, Associate Market Managers) on best practices.
- Execute effectively based on KPI metrics (targets, goals, and/or strategic objectives) established by Market Management leadership.
This position is central to the Market Management team's mission, ensuring that Expedia Group's global customers consistently find the ideal hotel for their desired travel experiences while enabling our hotel partners to effectively reach Expedia's extensive global traveler demand throughout the year.
Qualifications:
- 5 - 8 years of experience with a college/university or Master's degree; a degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or Business Administration is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to travel a minimum of 30% for market visits.
