Job Overview

The Quality Engineer (QE) plays a crucial role within our organization, focusing on enhancing quality assurance processes. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and collaborative skills to drive improvements in QA methodologies. The QE will engage in various quality assurance activities, including the development of test plans, conducting intricate manual tests, and maintaining automation solutions for software testing. With a moderate level of independence, the QE must effectively manage their time and provide support to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of test automation frameworks utilizing established software development practices and technologies.
  • Assist in the formulation and maintenance of non-functional tests, such as accessibility, security, and performance assessments.
  • Actively participate in agile methodologies, engaging in QA activities, performing requirements analysis, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Execute technical QA tasks, including API and database testing, by interpreting queries and understanding database relationships.
  • Identify and document bugs and defects.
  • Utilize project documentation to comprehend the software's scope, requirements, and functionality, enabling the creation and revision of test cases for both manual and automated testing.
  • Carry out manual and automated testing scenarios, scripts, and test cases.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding testing activities and outcomes.
  • Provide regular status updates detailing performed activities and testing results.
  • Engage in effort estimation discussions and revisions.
  • Ensure that the content and structure of testing artifacts are documented and maintained according to best practices for quality assurance automation.
  • Participate in onboarding processes for new team members.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in QA, demonstrating a self-driven approach to learning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English (B2+ level).
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in QA automation development.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, sharing knowledge with the team and contributing to capability initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Assertive communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies.
  • Experience with back-end and front-end technologies, functional testing, and test case management.
  • Knowledge of web services and ticketing/tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in database infrastructure and queries, as well as API testing.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Java.
  • Experience with Node.js.
  • Familiarity with Selenium.
  • Knowledge of Git or similar version control systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of JavaScript.
  • Experience with test case management tools such as Zephyr, SpiraTest, or Xray.
  • ISTQB Foundation or similar certification.
  • Familiarity with agile estimation processes and risk assessment.
  • Ability to categorize complex scenarios for automation suitability.
  • Knowledge of best practices in software development.
  • Experience mentoring team members.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Familiarity with Cypress and Playwright.
