About the Opportunity

The Latin America Director will play a critical role in shaping the future of Acumen's work in the region, driving impact and growth through strategic leadership. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the Colombian market, with experience in private equity or venture capital a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Acumen Latin America, aligning with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Oversee the management of the existing portfolio, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including policy makers, corporate partners, and thought leaders.
  • Cultivate and secure new funding sources to support the growth of the portfolio.
  • Grow the Latin America Fellows program, leveraging the network to drive impact and innovation.

Requirements

  • Post Graduate degree in related disciplines (e.g., Engineering, Sales/Marketing, Business Admin) and an MBA.
  • Proven track record of success in strategy, operations, finance, or business development, with a strong understanding of the Colombian market.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional interpersonal skills to manage relationships with investees, advisors, funders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Fundraising skills and willingness to fundraise.
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in building, managing, and motivating teams, especially through periods of change or uncertainty.
  • Very strong financial and business analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to present arguments and analysis succinctly.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
