Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Youth Development Specialist to join our team as a consultant. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in assessing, researching, or executing successful models related to conflict mitigation or secondary and tertiary violence prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Research Design: Assist in the development of a research design that effectively addresses the needs of at-risk youth and communities affected by urban violence.
- Lead Desk Review: Conduct a thorough desk review of primary and secondary sources of information on youth, youth violence prevention, and conflict mitigation.
- Oversee Data Collection: Ensure the quality of quantitative and qualitative data collection, providing guidance and expertise to the process.
- Develop Data Collection Instruments: Lead the development of instruments for quantitative and qualitative data collection.
- Participate in Coding Process: Actively participate in the coding process of qualitative instruments, contributing to the production of a codebook and thematic review.
- Contribute to Analysis: Contribute to the analysis of qualitative, quantitative, and secondary information.
- Support Report Writing: Assist the Team Leader in writing reports and presentations for clients, emphasizing findings and recommendations.
- Manage Deliverables: Ensure the timely submission of reports and deliverables, including data, reports, and presentations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in assessing, researching, or executing successful models related to conflict mitigation or secondary and tertiary violence prevention.
- Familiarity with the USAID Positive Youth Development Framework and 2022 Youth in Development Policy.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
