Position Overview

The Cyber Security Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our network systems. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring and analyzing security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform network surveillance and intrusion detection utilizing a variety of defense mechanisms, including firewalls and host-based security systems.
  • Analyze network activities to identify unauthorized usage patterns and trends.
  • Investigate emerging threats and vulnerabilities to assist in incident identification.
  • Evaluate monitoring solutions, conduct event correlation, and classify incidents to ensure proper logging and follow-up.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance existing monitoring protocols based on industry best practices.
  • Work independently while collaborating with IT and business teams in accordance with established security policies.
  • Foster positive working relationships within the team and demonstrate innovative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Cyber Security, or Engineering is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Security, particularly in Incident Response or Security Operations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and a solid work ethic are essential.
  • Ability to manage stress and adapt to extended work hours during critical operations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-directed learning.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS are required.

Technical Expertise:

Proficiency in at least five of the following areas is expected:

  • Incident Response and Security Risk Management
  • Security Event Monitoring and Analysis
  • Cloud Security (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Network Security and Firewall Management
  • Identity and Access Management
  • Data Security and Compliance

This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in cyber security to safeguard our organization's assets.
