Clinical Documentation Specialist with Scheduling Responsibilities

This is a remote position in California, USA. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM for a total of 40 hours per week, with a 1-hour unpaid break

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Scribe.

  • As a vital member of the medical staff, you will assist physicians with paperwork and operate their EHR system.
  • You will collaborate with physicians, perform clerical tasks like retrieving lab reports or charting doctor's appointments, and anticipate the needs of the physician to ensure efficiency in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities include recording doctors' conversations with their patients, documenting well-written summaries of what was discussed during the consultation or treatment session, and assisting physicians in completing paperwork after each visit. You may also be required to interpret from Spanish to English.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scribe: Transcribe everything that is said during a doctor's visit and document everything appropriately in eCW, including HPI, physical examination findings, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plan.
  • Scheduling for Specialists: Compile all relevant clinical information for patients who are referred to our specialists and schedule appointments for them, ensuring timely access to care.
  • Cozeva: Ensure we meet HEDIS measures for our patients by calling them in to have mammograms, colonoscopies, annual PE, bone densities, etc.
Requirements

We require proven work experience as a Medical Scribe or similar role, ability to expertly document patient care and transcribe patient appointments, assure the accuracy of all documentation and records, advanced computer skills, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good bedside manner and interpersonal skills to communicate with patients effectively.

Benefits

We offer a salary of $ $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, and independent contractor perks such as HMO Coverage for eligible locations, permanent work from home, steady freelance job.
