The successful candidate will work closely with our Scrum team, Product Owners, and Production Support team to deliver high-quality technical solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Analysis and Design: Involved in the full systems life cycle, responsible for analysis, troubleshooting, designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting applications software that is delivered on time.
- Development and Maintenance: Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
- Query Execution: Run queries to support production tickets analysis and as a reference to assist with operational workarounds.
- Training and Guidance: Provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts and programmers.
- Risk Management: Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Operational Efficiency: Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Team Collaboration: Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
- Experience: Have experience working with authenticated, customer-focused software.
- Technical Skills: Have deep knowledge and experience with REST API design, Java Spring Boot.
- Modern Frameworks: Have experience with one modern JS framework – specifically, React.
- Accessible Web Applications: Have built accessible and internationalized web applications before (Java, J2EE).
- Soft Skills: You have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Time Management: Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and work within tight timelines.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attitude: A proactive, positive, and flexible attitude. A real team player.
- Exposure: Exposure to CRM, Decisioning, Robotics, or another strategic Pega application (Pega Frameworks).
- Cloud and Version Control: Experience with Cloud Foundry, Spring MVC framework, Git, SVN, and Bitbucket.
- Consulting and Presentation: Excellent consulting and presentation skills.
- Leadership and Coaching: Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching, and motivational skills.
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
