Ecommerce Controller

JOIN THE REMOTE WORK REVOLUTION JOB TITLE: Controller LOCATION: Remote EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-timeJOB SUMMARY:We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting operations within our fast-growing eCommerce/Retail business.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reports, supporting strategic planning, and enhancing our financial systems to scale with the business.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
Manage the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory accounting, and tax compliance.
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and cost control initiatives.
Ensure proper financial reporting for all sales channels, including DTC (Shopify, Amazon, etc.)
and retail POS systems.
Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.
Support audits, including preparing schedules and working with external auditors.
Analyze financial performance, profitability by SKU/channel, and operational KPIs to provide insights to leadership.
Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to track inventory and COGS accurately.
Supervise and mentor the accounting team and support cross-functional financial projects.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in eCommerce, CPG, or retail.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial regulations.
Proven experience with inventory and cost accounting in a physical goods business.
Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero) and eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon Seller Central).
Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial modeling and reporting tools is a plus.
Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
