What can you expect in a Director of Global Research and Data role with TaskUs:
As the Director of Global Research and Data for wellness + Resiliency, you will be leading a team of behavioral researchers and data scientists to conduct large-scale high-impact studies to improve employee wellbeing and inform business decisions. You will be in direct contact with the clients to staff critical results that impact the industry as a collective. This role requires methodical oversight of studies that span a global reach.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team to conduct secondary research to support existing projects as well as proposals for new bodies of work.
- Align research roadmap and priorities with company strategic directions and business objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders such as HR, DEI, Operations, to identify and clarify critical business needs that require research support.
- Play a driving role in managing demand across stakeholders.
- Maximize the use of secondary data and achieve a healthy balance between running primary studies and leveraging existing data to generate insights.
- Supervise the submission of research protocols for ethics review and enforce research ethics best practices
- Prioritize and manage research that varies in approach, scale, scope, timeframe and methodology across multiple work streams, making sure that your team works on the right projects at the right time.
- Monitor project progress and develop strategies to meet goals and milestones on time.
- Demonstrate ability to problem solve in ambiguous space.
- Safeguard the rigor, quality, and validity of research projects by reviewing study proposals, analytical results, and research reports, making sure that the right methods are used and the right interpretation is made.
- Guide your team to write succinct and easy-to-understand business reports as well as academic manuscripts.
- Present research findings and communicate key business insights on a regular basis for both internal and external audiences.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to disseminate and implement research recommendations.
- Ensure that client data reporting requirements are met by enforcing data collection protocols and collaborating with different data teams to access and manipulate data and display results either via reports or dashboards.
- Identify pain points in research operations and establish or enhance processes and structures.
- Manage external relationships and collaborations with vendors, academic institutions, and industry experts.
- Demonstrate exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data.
- Mentor and develop the skills, talents, and careers of the researchers and data scientists on your team, coaching them to success and impact.
Work outside of traditional working hours to allow at least 4 hours of overlap each day with America timezones and travel as needed to collaborate with international stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

- Have published at least 2 first-authored academic papers in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factors (e.g., 2 and above)
- Experience submitting research protocols for ethics review as the principal investigator or the lead researcher
- Proficient in foundational qualitative methods: in-depth interviews, focus groups, and behavioral observations
- Proficient in foundational quantitative methods: survey design, basic descriptive statistics, and basic inferential statistics (e.g., t-tests, ANOVAs, chi-squares, correlation analyses)
- Proficient in the following study designs and know when to use what design: naturalistic / observational study, longitudinal study, experimental design, and quasi-experimental design.
- Proficient in at least one statistical analysis program, such as SPSS
People management experience of 1 year or more
