This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Site Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the assigned program in partnership with the collaborating school or park when the program is off-site and with the branch team when the program occurs on-site at a branch. At off-site programs, the Site Coordinator serves as the primary contact to the school administration and faculty and helps establish the program at the assigned school. The Site Coordinator supports the group leaders in the daily supervision of program participants and provides guidance and or assistance to them in the planning, development, and implementation of program components and activities. The Site Coordinator works with the Youth Leaders to guide the academic and social development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy learning environment. The Site Director assists the Group Leaders in using a variety of resources, to introduce new skills throughout the execution of activities.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Administers the day-to-day operation of the program, ensuring that all the program components and SOPs are adhered to.
- Monitors and promotes program participant recruitment.
- Prepares and monitors staff schedules at all times, modifying it as necessary to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios. Make arrangements for substitute staffing as needed.
- Coordinates with the school’s administration, teachers, community partnerships, and/or branch team to successfully implement the program.
- Evaluates the program quality, implementing necessary remedial steps when necessary.
- Ensures attendance records, dismissal logs, and other required documents are properly completed, maintained and filed.
- Membership/Facilities/Aquatics Directors when the program takes place at the branch or in shared spaces.
- Ensures staff are planning and implementing age appropriate learning experiences and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
- Ensures that careful supervision and guidance is provided to Program Aides that are assigned to Group Leaders. Ensures Program Aides who are under 18 years of age are never left alone to supervise or monitor youth participants and are receiving proper supervision.
- Follows all procedures and standards as established by the law or the Y.
- Provides supervision, assistance, and guidance to staff.
- Conducts ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of staff and children.
- Serves as a positive role model, demonstrates professional behavior.
- Promotes a team concept through a positive approach to supervision, communication, and interactions with others.
- Maintains on-going communication with supervisor and assigned staff, conducting regular and on-going meetings.
- Creates a positive rapport with youth, staff, parents/guardians, as well as other departments especially when programs are based on-site at the branch.
- Maintains accurate participant records as assigned and according to program requirements.
- Communicates regularly with parents; attends parent/family events as designated by the supervisor.
- Ensures proper food handling during snack/lunch preparation.
- Ensures clean up and preparation of room/program space for next day.
- Depending on the program, may tend to diapering and toilet needs of children.
- Plans and implements special events such as family nights and program activities.
- Leads and attends required staff meetings, staff training, and other required events.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of YMCA mission, purpose and goals, childcare policies and YMCA standards; ensures the program meets the highest standards of excellence.
