**We have an open position in the Engineering Latin America Reinsurance team**

This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your analytical and negotiation skills, to build internal and external key relationships, and to become an expert in modelling, data analysis, pricing, and reinsurance underwriting, while being able to own the way you work in a flexible and multicultural environment.

Picture your next professional challenge being responsible for underwriting a portfolio of treaty business for Latin American cedents, comprised of the following types of risks: Construction All Risk, Machinery Breakdown, Civil Engineering Completed Risks, Electronic Equipment, Contractor's Plant & Equipment, Inherent Defect Insurance, Renewable Energy and more,

Our dynamic and diverse team provides the insights and seeks to improve our impact on our clients' needs in the Engineering space, by providing a suite of solutions such as treaty reinsurance, facultative reinsurance, parametric products, technical underwriting insights, insurtech solutions and more.

**This role is accountable to**:

- Use actuarial methods to quantify expected losses and figure out underwriting quality of a portfolio
- Develop and maintain profitable relationships with clients
- Collaborate and drive execution to deliver the right solutions and business strategies to our clients with internal cross-functional teams
- Provide insights and Engineering product-development support to clients to improve their Engineering book of business.
- Deep expertise in (re-) insurance market trends, risk landscape and regulatory developments to be a market and industry referent as a Swiss Re ambassador

Success in this position requires being a teammate, with a strong analytical and technical skills, a focus on serving clients' needs, and the ability to thrive in a multifaceted, team-focused environment delivering against tight target dates.

**We are looking forward to meeting you if your profile includes**:

- A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university, preferably in fields such as Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Actuarial science.
- Minimum 5+ years of work experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry, preferably in the areas of Engineering or Energy
- Data savviness and attention to detail, with ability to transform data into useful insights.
- A strong understanding of reinsurance pricing, risk selection and underwriting practice as well as contract /policy wording
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
- Ability to travel.
