Kenvue is currently recruiting for LATAM SR. BUYER is based at Cali in Colombia.

The position will be responsible for strategic sourcing management of chemicals ingredients for North America region. In addition to the core procurement knowledge the category buyer will also be expected to demonstrate key skills of:

- Understanding the complete value chain from Origin / base feedstock (Oil / Mineral / Agricultural / Synthetic) to consumer and the position of the category within this value chain
- Strategy Development through effective Business Needs Understanding, Economic, Financial, Industry, Competitor and Supplier Analysis.
- Strategy Implementation through the effective execution of Competitive Bidding events, Strategic Negotiations, Supplier Relationship Management and Legal Contracting.
- Managing relationship with internal business partners, cross-functions and (where appropriate) external.

To operate successfully in the function, it is very meaningful to have strong business acumen and understanding of the chemical industry and its dynamics, as well as outstanding interpersonal teamwork and influence skills.

**Key responsibilities / tasks**

Supplier Relationship & Risk Management
- Accountable for defining and leading supplier relationship to best implement sourcing strategies
- Accountable for the identification, implementation and tracking of Continuous Improvement initiatives at selected Suppliers
- Accountable for crisis resolution through early escalation and deployment of internal resources
- Negotiate appropriate supply terms and agreements for Raw Materials that best meet the needs and risks posed to J&J
- Manage contracts status to ensure appropriate legal coverage is maintained across the portfolio
- Ensure Supplier compliance towards all requirements (Financial Sarbanes-Oxley, Health & Safety, Environment, Quality and etc)

**Sourcing Strategy**
- Become an expert and reference in the technology and supply areas by developing in-depth knowledge about the industry (capabilities, strengths, weaknesses)
- Develop, align with the business and implement sourcing strategies for the specific technology area

**Cost and Complexity Reduction**
- Lead efforts to identify and implement current and pipeline cost and complexity reduction opportunities
- Support and develop the financial Business Plan of the company with accuracy on prices, cost improvement projects and inflation management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree completed.
- More than 7 years’ experience in supply chain area, and demonstrated ability in Procurement Strategic Sourcing function
- Solid understanding of the chemical industry
- Experience of working with chemical ingredients is desirable plus
- Post-graduate degree is a plus
- Fluent in English - high usage of the language in daily activities

This position will be preferably based on Cali, Colombia, working 3 days from the office and 2 days home office..
