**What you will do**:

- Be a player-coach, serving as the lead designer for a product squad, while coaching one or more less senior designers.
- Lead by example, showing other designers how to build hard and soft skills. Raise the bar for design critiques presentations and foster a culture of proactive feedback, curiosity, vulnerability, and trust.
- Partner with user researchers to define and run research projects within your squad, and translate learnings into near-term and long-term opportunities. Teach other designers to run unbiased usability tests that generate rich insights.
- Build strategic design project plans. Clearly tie your approach and methods to a larger vision. Nimbly work within constraints, and propose creative solutions to help the team drive toward goals. Be accountable for the quality of the UX and UI in your squad. Take pride in the design craft of your team.
- Propose solutions that elevate the end-to-end design process by improving quality, scalability, and speed. Run UX retros within your squad, and operationalize and socialize the takeaways.
- Act as a strategic partner to the squad PMs and cross-functional stakeholders. Set and maintain a high bar for quality of communication, collaboration, alignment, and execution.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and collaborative work sessions, leveraging design thinking methods, and engaging cross-functional team members in the design process. Advocate for a user-centered perspective and approach, and help team members connect the dots between business goals and user goals.
- Cultivate design maturity in all your decisions and day-to-day interactions.

You quickly and easily detect user friction and are rigorous in your design solutions. You’re constantly building your design knowledge and you love sharing it with others.
- **A Storyteller.** You share your work at all stages of the design journey with a range of stakeholders. You’re able to present your design ideas through clear and compelling stories and defend a strong point of view while adapting to feedback and input.
- **Detail Oriented.** Your engineering deliverables are pixel-perfect. You thoroughly annotate intended behaviors and interactions, and you think through every state and edge case. You enjoy working with engineers to bring your design vision to life.

**Qualifications**
- A product design portfolio or case studies demonstrating your approach to solving a range of design problems in different contexts, including but not limited to the use of flows maps, information architecture, journey maps, user research, and analytics.
- Experience practicing design thinking. Demonstrated ability to use frameworks for analysis and strategic decision making.
- Expertise in the craft of UX/UI design (bonus if you have design system experience)
- Experience independently conducting UX research
- Some previous mentorship experience or a desire to grow in that direction
- Fluent in Spanish or Portuguese; professional proficiency in English
