Compliance Officer Essity Latam

About the role:

Essity is a leading global hygiene and health company dedicated to improving well-being through its products and services. Essity conducts sales in approximately 150 countries and has about 28,000 employees. The company's headquarters is located in Stockholm, Sweden, and Essity is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.

The Compliance Officer in Latam is responsible for implementing and driving the Essity Compliance program in its entities in Latam, working directly with regional leaders in Latam and advising them on matters related to Essity's compliance program. The Compliance Officer is part of the global compliance team and supports the VP of Compliance & Ethics with overarching topics.

The compliance officer will embody Essity's values, and will not be afraid to challenge, innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace.

The Compliance officer for Essity Latam reports to the VP for Compliance & Ethics and will be based in Medellin Colombia.

What you will do:

  • Monitor and report results of the global compliance program as well as implementation of all necessary requirements to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations of regulatory agencies/authorities.
  • Monitor and report result of the Anti-Bribery & Corruption Program
  • Support and advise management on compliance-related matters.
  • Support and create internal compliance communications, such as Essity Group intranet site and local newsletters and tailor compliance trainings.
  • Ensure on-going compliance with the AdvaMedtech Code and all other relevant healthcare rules and regulations for MedTech compliance.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risks and oversee internal investigations with focus on financial aspects.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provide guidance on how to avoid or remedy similar situations in the future.
  • Work constructively with compliance colleagues on all matters, including devising, implementing and maintaining policies & procedures.
  • Actively engage with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Human Resources, Finance and Group Internal Audit on cross functional activities.

Who you are:

  • Master of Law is preferred or Bachelor's Degree in Business or a similar related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of compliance/regulatory/legal experience in a global enterprise or law firm.
  • Must have MedTech/medical device manufacturing industry experience with a strong background in healthcare compliance and the AdvaMedtech Code.
  • Excellent communications skills (intranet platforms, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel.
  • You have an ability and willingness to be part of an international and diverse team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead senior managers in a dynamic and matrixed environment.
  • Excellent intercultural interest and sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Proven ability to build trust.
  • Fluent business English, second language is an asset.
