Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including payroll processing, tax withholding (if necessary), and benefits administration.
- Perform complex payroll calculations and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members on payroll processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Analyze payroll data and trends to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance payroll operations.
- Participate in payroll audits and reviews, ensuring adherence to internal controls and audit standards.
- Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and industry trends, and implement updates as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in payroll processing or related roles.
- Proficiency in payroll software systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in reconciling payroll accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues.
- Leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring junior staff and leading payroll projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken (C1), with the capacity to articulate complex ideas and strategies clearly and concisely.
