Job Description
The Department of Medical Writing in the Global Clinical Trial Operations supports the clinical development portfolio by preparing various regulated documentation. Our team in Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance is dedicated to advancing global healthcare through research and innovation, ensuring the safety and efficacy of our products for the betterment of healthcare.
The Associate Narrative Medical Writer (MW) plays a crucial role in developing medical writing deliverables for specific documents within a therapeutic area, collaborating closely with management and the Principal Medical Writer Safety Lead. This role involves contributing scientifically to safety-related clinical documents, adhering to internal guidelines and industry standards efficiently and promptly.
The Associate Medical Writer collaborates under supervision to:
- Prepare segments of regulatory clinical documentation
- Gain expertise in regulatory medical writing and relevant therapeutic areas to support projects
- Contribute to document-specific teams
- Develop skills in writing, editing, and reviewing clinical study reports, patient narratives, investigator brochures, and other regulatory documents
- Interpret data and apply regulatory/compliance/scientific knowledge to document creation
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of medical writing responsibilities in clinical development support
- Identify and address challenges in medical writing tasks through collaboration and communication with team members
- Contribute to enhancing medical writing processes and standards
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Degree in a life science field, ideally pharmacy or medicine related
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience; MS with 1+ year; or doctoral-level degree (e.g., PhD, MD, DVM, DO, PharmD) with 1 year of relevant experience
- Ability to craft scientific documents and collaborate in team settings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, with strong presentation, writing, and project management capabilities
- Strong command of the English language
