We are actively looking for an Accountant to join our Bogota office.

As part of the Accounting Team, this position will be responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • General Ledger:
  • Prepare the financial records for the countries assigned by the accounting manager LATAM
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled or cleared monthly
  • Perform and update general ledger account reconciliations
  • Compose misc. journal entries
  • Reconcile and clear suspense accounts
  • Financial Statements:
  • Assist in preparation of full monthly balance sheets with comparison to prior month
  • Assist in preparation of monthly income statements
  • Review for accuracy and analyze
  • Prepare a monthly closing schedule and follow up to ensure every transaction/accrual/calculation was recognized on time and properly
  • Prepare monthly exception reports and review reports
  • Reconciliation with Local Accounting Outsourcing:
  • Reconcile M&N financials with the local financial statements provided by the outsourcing vendor in each country. Ensure that the reconciliation parties were eliminated with the necessary adjustments / reclassifications
  • Variation analysis:
  • After the monthly closure and reconciliation processes, issue a variation analysis comparing YTD figures of current month vs previous month

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field; required
  • 1 year public or private accounting; required
  • Foreign currency accounting experience; required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (emphasis on Excel and Word)
  • Proficiency in Deltek Accounting Software or comparable A/E Accounting Software; preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills; required
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills; required
  • Bilingual: English with medium level proficiency; required
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a preemployment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
