Job Title: Senior Analyst in Demand Planning

Company: Leading company in the consumer goods industry

Location: Bogotá

The Senior Analyst in Demand Planning plays a key role in developing and maintaining a precise 24-month unit forecast at the item level for their accounts/categories, using advanced forecasting methodologies to improve accuracy, minimize bias, and optimize inventory levels while meeting financial goals and customer service targets.

The Senior Analyst also handles internal and external relationships effectively, knowing when to escalate issues to their manager or leverage corporate resources to meet objectives aligned with customer and organizational expectations.

Responsibilities in Demand Planning and Operations:

  • Develops short, medium, and long-term data-driven insights on POS expectations, inventory levels, and competitive market dynamics to create an unbiased 24-month rolling forecast.
  • Analyzes demand plans by coordinating the monthly planning cycle with Sales, Finance, and Operations, incorporating market data and statistical forecasts.
  • Masters APO/IBP Demand Planning software and interprets results from internal operational support tools like Power BI, Apollo, and Forecast Metrics.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to identify risks and opportunities in advance and works with Supply Chain to address supply gaps and minimize stock issues.
  • Manages the outlier process, collaborating with Sales to address forecast opportunities or risks requiring Supply Chain approval.
  • Works with the team to find solutions for handling unproductive inventory.

Reporting, Communication, and Planning Responsibilities:

  • Provides visibility on weekly orders versus forecast and evaluates potential impact on future forecasts.
  • Supports annual planning processes by analyzing data, identifying opportunities, risks, and forecasting new product expectations.
  • Anticipates supply chain issues and communicates them to the sales teams in a proactive manner.
  • Assists in preparing the monthly Demand Review Meeting, covering various aspects including current and prior forecasts, POS, and inventory position.
  • Develops knowledge of account business practices related to inventory flow, policies, and store operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or Operations.
  • 2-4 years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, or related fields.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with diverse leadership levels.
  • Ability to communicate complex conclusions clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and strong PC skills, particularly in Excel.
