Role Purpose:

To maintain and enhance professional development and academic quality in the teaching center, through the management of inhouse teacher development programme and support To promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English To provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience
Accountabilities:
Teaching Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning needs and modes of learning Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students' performance throughout their learning, and actively promote learner autonomy and progress Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning, and maintain British Council's position at the forefront of best ELT practices.
Teaching Centre Activities Support teaching centre's activities and British Council plans Complete teaching related administrative tasks to specified standards and uphold professional responsibilities and values. Ensure British Council's values and behaviours are reflected in their work
Customers & Stakeholders Maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues Attend staff meetings and otherwise contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to meet students' needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team

Qualification

Essentials Undergraduate degree Cambridge CELTA and or Trinity cert TESOL (global minimum standard)
Desirables Recognised diploma in EFL i.e. DELTA and orTrinity Diploma TYLEC
Work Experience

Essentials A minimum of 2 years postcertificate i.e. CELTA/Trinity cert TESOL experience gained from teaching a variety of age groups and levels from young learners through to adults. You should have experience in teaching two or more of the following age groups:

Young learners aged 4 to hours) Young learners aged 8 to hours) Young learners aged 13 to hours) Adults aged hours)
Desirables Experience with Early Years (200+ hours) University/Vocational students aged 18 to hours) Line managing experience Experience delivering training sessions

Visa Support: Visa support only for the employee (Visa study, visa value, translations required, and national ID), future visa renewals will be at the employee's expense.
Relocation package:Flight if you are outside Colombia and accommodation for two weeks
Annual Leave: Teachers are entitled to paid leave per year as per standard British Council policy
Additional InformationContract Type**:Indefinite
Working Hours:Classes are offered from 07.00 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 08.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Saturdays.
This role may require mornings and/or evenings, and Saturday work with a total of 25 teaching hours per week. Every effort is made to reduce split shifts. Classes are facetoface onsite and offsite.
