The internship takes place in the Human Resources Unit.

Supervision
Under the overall supervision of the Human Resources Officer and the direct supervision of the
Chief - Human Resources.

_ Core Functions / Responsibilities:
_


  • Support the mission resources management in the area of Human Resources.
  • Research on existing mechanisms/tools in Colombia and/or UN System that allow improving
the scope of recruitment processes for people with disabilities.

  • Design strategies and mechanisms to implement initiatives, programmes and tools to support
a diverse workforce and an inclusive work environment within IOM, by ensuring a strategic
inclusion of DEI in relevant management processes.

  • Design strategies and mechanisms to promote that persons with disabilities are included in
IOM's.

  • In coordination with IOM Colombia's programs and units, identify opportunities for vacant
positions that can be filled with people with disabilities and assist in the design of strategies for
adapting the context of the mission and staff.

  • Support in recruitment processes, webinars, and trainings for cross-cutting themes.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Training Components and Learning Elements

  • It is expected that the selected intern will:
  • Be exposed to the activities of IOM in the duty station.
  • Gain understanding about the IOM and the UN System and its processes.
  • Learn technical skills described in this Post Description.
  • Be able to prove their dedication, skills, and capacity to work in an international setting as part
of a diverse and international team.

_ Required Qualifications and Experience:
_


Education

  • Are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum
Bachelor's level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months. of programs in human
resources, in disability, Social Projects, social inclusion from an accredited academic institution.

Experience

  • Experience in human resources, inclusion, diversity, and disability inclusion.

Skills

  • Understanding and knowledge in the creation of knowledge management products.
  • Knowledge of business administration.
  • Computer literacy, especially database tools and strong Excel knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and
professional backgrounds.

  • Proven ability to produce quality work accurately and concisely according to set deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently.

Languages
IOM's official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be
fluent in one of the three languages.

For this position, fluency in English and Spanish is required (oral and written). Working
knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, and Russian) is an
advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,
which may include written and/or oral assessments.
