Background

ACT Alliance is the world's largest coalition of Protestant and Orthodox churches and church-related organisations engaged in humanitarian, development and advocacy work.

It consists of 144 members working together in over 120 countries, with headquarters in 73 countries, whose aim is to create a positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalized people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards (please refer to ).

In response to the rising fundamentalisms, democratic crises, and systematic human rights violations in Latin America, this position is dedicated to fostering awareness, capacity sharing, coordination, project proposals and dialogue on critical human rights issues within the region.

The professional will support ACT Alliance forums, members, and Communities of Practice (CoP) by enhancing their engagement with local, national and regional decision-makers, as well as bodies such as the United Nations and the Inter-American human rights system.

The goal is to advance advocacy efforts and programs for the concerns of member organizations (Churches and Faith Based Organizations) and partner communities, ensuring the voices of all are heard and their rights are protected.
