As the Resource Mobilization Advisor, you will work closely with the project team for funding strategy development and deployment. In addition, you will support the team in responding to calls via proposal writing and developing unsolicited proposals to funders. You will support fundraising ideas and strategies.

As a volunteer, you will:

Generate a preliminary review to understand community philanthropy practices in the country context and identify opportunities. Review and adjust the sustainability and relationship strategy.
Lead, together with the Board of Directors, the definition and implementation of the resource mobilization strategy. Accompany communications processes and activities related to resource mobilization. Participate in the construction of the organization's policies, processes, tools and procedures related to sustainability and resource mobilization. Accompany and support the partner in meetings, events and other opportunities to connect with potential social investment partners.

Essential Requirements:

Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in subjects related to the objectives of the position: fundraising, community development, social sciences, management, organizational and social development, sustainability and resource mobilization.

Essential Background:

Experience and knowledge in the design and implementation of sustainability strategies. Experience in resource mobilization. Experience and knowledge in philanthropic or social organizations Experience working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams. Experience working in local resource mobilization.

Cuso International will deliver the Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) project, with a contribution from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over seven years (2020-2027). SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing the engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.
