Position: Project Manager ( LatAm)
Schedule: M - F 7 am to 4 pm EST
Salary Range: ​​​​​​​2000-2500USD

​​​​​​​Responsibilities:

  • Field Position Management:
    • Plan, organize, and staff key field positions to support the Mechanical Construction Division.
    • Support and assist project managers and assistants in problem-solving and document interpretation.
    • Support and assist the General Field Superintendent with job-specific responsibilities, including labor management and manpower forecasting.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work closely with engineering, CAD, and estimating departments.
    • Initiate and maintain liaison with clients and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities.
    • Represent the company in project meetings and assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings.
  • Procurement and Purchasing:
    • Perform project buyouts of major materials, equipment, fixtures, and rough-in plumbing, piping, and sheet metal materials.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions, and place purchase orders and subcontracts for designated projects.
    • Review vendor and subcontractor bids, evaluating price, delivery date, past performance, etc., to determine successful orders.
    • Negotiate and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders within company policies.
  • Project Financials and Documentation:
    • Draft monthly billings, including percentage complete and stored materials, for accounting department preparation.
    • Review and manage project job cost reports, and incorporate project superintendents' input to forecast accordingly.
    • Understand and recognize errors in job cost reporting (actual and estimated costs) and provide input in initial job cost input from project estimates.
    • Administer and negotiate all project change orders as required or directed.
    • Interface with accounting and vendors to clarify invoice problems, prepare back charges, etc.
    • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including fee payments, rental equipment, and income/expenses, to protect the company’s interests while maintaining a good relationship with the client.
  • Project Management and Oversight:
    • Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries.
    • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of the on-site superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
    • Administer and maintain policies within corporate structures.
    • Support Project Managers on their projects and supervise work when assigned.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Primavera Scheduler.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in mechanical construction or related fields.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex documents.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and job cost reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with relevant software tools (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Primavera Scheduler).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with labor management and manpower forecasting.
  • Familiarity with construction project management and financial oversight.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
